mlb-10-the-show

If you’re a baseball fan or have played any MLB series before, you’ll know how awesome the quality of game play that the MLB series delivers. The previous version was already a nice package but this year, The Show all-star is the best selling and highest rated baseball franchise in MLB10. The cover athlete is Joe Mauer, AL MVP and catcher for the Minnesota Twins. You start out as a rookie, training and upgrading your skills as you embark on your journey towards The Show. In this game, you can expect a whole ton of game modes and features including Home Run Derby, MLB All-Star Futures Game, Movie Maker, Catcher Mode and Defensive/Offensive training mode. Lets take a look at some of these game modes in detail and what you’re in for.

Home Run Derby

This mode is based on the MLB rules and it’s exactly like an MLB all-star game. You can select between stand-alone mode or season mode.

Game calling as the Catcher

In this mode, you can call pitches from a unique first-person perspective. You can test you knowledge of pitches, opposing batters’ tendencies and the state of your own pitcher’s well-being. You can also check runners on base or block balls that are in the dirt or on wild.

Defensive /Offensive Training Modes

Now you can train your players just like they do in real life with new fielding and pitching training modes. More advanced combination of training which involves throwing and decision making will help players improve the overall game experience and game play. Pitching training consists of a multi-pronged focus designed to improved control and accuracy.

Realism is what this game is all about

The game is also going to have a better online experience with very little lag. Online league improvements are now implemented so that the online experience is just as good as the offline version. Improvements of game play include new pickoff feature, improved base running and improved catcher play. The graphics and presentation is really awesome. You can expect a real time presentation of people constantly moving around, great transition daylight lighting, realistic playoff atmosphere and practices. You can even record plays and make films from them.

What I really like about the show is that amount of atmosphere and environments that you can play in. There is five new Minor League stadiums as well as classic parks including Polo Grounds and Sportsman Park.

This game is simply awesome and is a must have for any baseball fan. You can find more information about MLB10 The Show here.
